Support Request: Site Remote unusable with redirected folders
Reproduction
General use once trying to load even a basic image for a campaign. Application will freeze.
From another report of the same bug:
http://www.provisio.com/en-US/CustomerSupportCenter/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=20551
"The Digital Signage Silverlight application runs locally at the client machine where you use the SiteRemote Web page at.
For a faster usage of the campaign editor in the web page Silverlight will cache the files you add to the campaign locally the Home directory of the logged in Windows user (default: C:\Users\XXXXXXXXX\Documents\SiteCaster\site\TeamRoot\Campaigns\).
If you (or your domain administrator) changed the home directory location of the Windows user you logged in with to a network drive it can lead to access and/or timing issues with Silverlight.
In that case you should make sure that the Windows user does use the local Documents folder again. "
This isn't practical in a corporate environment, most of which will employ folder redirection. We're certainly not going to start having exclusions and extra backups (with implied extra licenses, storage & support) running just to accomodate Site Remote. A cache such as this should be written to C:\Users\XXXXXXXXX\Local\SiteCaster\site\TeamRoot\Campaigns for example so that it neither writes across the network or is included in roaming profiles. Currently, your software is unusable in our organisation because of this.
