Edit Working with categories and albums
Edit Categories
The group folder Categories in the
library browser is divided into specific sub-folders, which you can use for storing your media files. Use your mouse to select the categorized contents and automatically display them in thumbnail view. Pictomio offers several options to categorize media files:
Categorizing by drag & drop
Drag the file you want to categorize from the thumbnail view, and drop it in the requested category folder in the library browser.

Categorizing by folder contents selected in the library browser
You can assign individual files or the contents of entire folders to several different categories. For instance, you can right-click the folder content grouped in the "Holidays" category of the library browser and assign it, for example, to the "Fun" category using the opening context menu.
Categorizing files using the collapsible "Image information"
Select an image in thumbnail view and open the collapsible "Image information". Click into the field next to the subitem Category, and choose a category.

Edit Albums
While the content sorted by different categories is organized following certain criteria, albums allow you to save any number of unrelated files to one or several album folders.
The main difference between albums and categories in Pictomio is that albums can be nested, i.e. an album can be split up into sub-albums.
Grouping in albums
The same principles apply to the grouping of images into albums as to the
categorizing of media files. This means that you can either drag image files directly from thumbnail view to an album or right-click a file displayed in the
browser structure or in thumbnail view to select it and move it to the requested album using the context menu.
