User Interface Slideshow Window

After clicking on the slideshow button in the main window you will see the slideshow section: Slideshow Window
Back and Forward Buttons: Make use of the back and forward buttons to toggle between different modes you have previously chosen. You can go back to previous modes by clicking on the left button and go forward by clicking on the right button.

Search Bar: You can enter search terms in the search box at the top right of the slideshow window. It has the same functionality like in the main window mode. The text you enter is searched for in several attributes of the image files, e.g. file names, tags, categories, albums, description etc. Please note that it is currently only possible to search for the beginning of texts. The pictomio database does not yet have a full text index that would allow you to search for individual words in the middle of image describptions.
NOTE: In the current version (Pictomio 0.2.30) this function is not yet available in the slideshow mode. We will fix this for upcoming versions.

Menu Bar: The file tab gives you the possibility to create a new slideshow, to open an existing slideshow or to save your current slideshow. The functions of the “edit” tab and the “options” tab are still under development. There will be several changes, so please wait for upcoming pictomio versions to learn more about future modifications.

Thumbnail View (Grid): On the right side of the slideshow window, you will find the thumbnail view. It displays the thumbnails corresponding to the folders in the library or file browser list you have previously selected in the main window. Use the right scrollbar or the click wheel on your mouse to navigate through the thumbnail section and use the drag and drop option to insert thumbnails into the timeline window. You can also append a single image by double clicking on it.

Timeline: As described in the above sub-item you can use the drag and drop option to move your images from the “Thumbnail View” into this field. In the top section, you can see the time code, divided in minutes and seconds. This helps you to get a feeling for the duration of the slideshow animation. You can simply rearrange the chronology of the thumbnails in the timeline by using the drag and drop option.

Slideshow Preview: This window gives you a preview of your timeline arrangement. The time counter at the bottom left indicates the actual current time of your animated slideshow.

Play/ Pause/ Stop/ Prev / Next Buttons: These buttons let you control slideshow animation you created. To see your animation in the “Slideshow Preview” just click on the play button to start and pause the animation. A mouse click on the stop button will end the animation with a combined rollback to the starting point of the animation. A mouse click on the Prev/ Next Buttons (first and last button on the panel) performs a jump to the previous or to the next image in your slideshow.
Note: The prev/ next buttons are not yet activated in the current version (Pictomio 0.2.30) but we will fix this soon.

Position Marker: The marker displays the position in the timeline combined with the images actually shown in the “Slideshow Preview”. You can change its position in the timeline by dragging the “Position Marker” with the mouse.

Transition Button: This button is placed automatically between two thumbnails in the timeline when you create a slideshow animation. By default, you will get a smooth blend effect between two pictures. Click on the “Transition Button” to edit the transition effect and the transition duration. You can choose from several great effects like flip, cross fade, color blend , radial blur and more.

Effects Button: This button gives you the opportunity to edit thumbnail selections in your timeline and animate them with different effects . Apart from selecting between the options described in the sub-item for the "Transition Button", you can also change the duration the image slide is to be shown in an animation.

Autoscroll Option: The checkbox allows you to fix the position of the “Position Marker” while playing the slideshow animation. This is very useful for time intensive animations and gives you better control over the current images shown.

Full Screen Button: After starting the slideshow, click on this button to see the slideshow in full screen mode. Press the escape button on your keyboard to close the full screen window .

Thumbnail Zoom Slider: Use the zoom slider to change the size of the thumbnails shown in the timeline. There is also another zoom slider in the status bar which effects the thumbnail size in the “Thumbnail View” window.
